Maverick and I have spent the last several weeks doing the quiet, unglamorous work of asking what is this, actually? What do we want The Hiking Group to be, not just as a place to coordinate carpools, but as a community?

The Hiking Group is a community formed and shaped by the wilderness.
Our mission: To lead people into increasingly wild places, together, responsibly, and with wonder.
Thatās it. Thatās the north star. And now weāre building toward it.

š„¾ More hikes ā local greenway walks after work. Weekend day hikes when the weather is calling. And yes, weāre planning camping trips and backpacking adventures throughout the year for those ready to go a little deeper.
šæ A stronger community ā one where people are genuinely inspired to get outside, show up for each other on the trail, and grow in their confidence as hikers.
Weāre not trying to be the biggest hiking group in Atlanta. Weāre trying to be the one that actually does something to you, that quietly changes how you spend your weekends, who you call when you want to get outside, and how far youāre willing to go.
The wilderness has a way of forming people. Weāre just trying to create the conditions for that to happen.
